01Who provides Foliover
Foliover is provided by LingBo wang, an individual developer based in China (“we,” “us,” or “our”). For personal information we receive through support or privacy requests, LingBo wang is responsible for the processing described in this policy. Contact: wanglingbo0227@126.com.
This policy covers the Foliover iOS app, including photo review, calendar care, Timestamp, portrait backgrounds, photo sizing and printing, image compression, and related support communications. It describes the current app, not the separate policies of earlier independent apps or third-party services.
02Privacy at a glance
Foliover does not require an account. Photo and calendar analysis, photo editing, background processing and stamp rendering run on your device. The app does not send your photo library, calendar contents, review results or location history to a developer-operated server.
We do not include advertising or third-party tracking or analytics SDKs, request cross-app tracking permission, sell personal information, or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use your photos, calendar or location to train a developer-operated AI model.
Local processing does not mean every optional action is offline. Apple handles purchases and optional address lookup; system pickers, backups, exports and communications can involve the providers you use, as explained below.
03Photos, imports and local analysis
When you start a photo review, Foliover requests photo-library access. With limited access, it reviews only the items iOS makes available under your selection. The review uses image or video content and metadata such as library identifiers, creation and modification dates, dimensions, duration, estimated size, favorites and edit status.
The app computes local fingerprints, similarity groups and quality observations to help you review duplicate, similar or other potentially unwanted items. Review metadata, fingerprints, categories and detection reasons may be cached inside the app. These are suggestions; you choose items and confirm before deletion.
Photo & print may detect face position and pose to provide composition tips, and use on-device image processing to separate a person from the background. It does not identify people, compare identities, create an identity database, or send face measurements to us. Working analysis is used for the current edit, not retained by us as a biometric identity profile.
Importing an individual photo uses the system Photos or Files picker without requiring full-library permission. The selected file may contain capture dates, time-zone information and GPS metadata, which Timestamp can read to display the photo’s own context. Apple or your file provider may download a selected cloud file; that transfer is separate from local analysis.
Image compression imports a selected photo or file into temporary app storage, processes its image content and file dimensions locally, and creates a new JPG or PNG copy. Compression outputs omit source GPS and private image metadata. A verified output is retained in Your work for later export, sharing or deletion. The original photo or file is not overwritten. Images held by iCloud or a Files provider may need the provider to download the original.
04Calendar care
Calendar permission is requested when you start a calendar review. The app locally reads available events and calendar information, including titles, dates, notes, locations, URLs and calendar or source labels, to identify possible duplicates or unwanted events. It does not upload these contents to us or visit event URLs as part of the scan.
Scanning does not automatically change your calendar. Changes apply only to the items you select and confirm, subject to calendar permissions and editability. Your calendar provider may synchronize changes to your other devices. Read-only subscriptions may need to be managed through iOS Settings. Foliover has no in-app recovery service for deleted calendar events.
05Camera, time and optional location
Camera access is requested when you enable capture. Camera frames and captured photos are processed locally. Foliover does not request microphone permission for its still-photo capture feature.
Live location is off by default. If you enable it, iOS location permission is used while the feature is active to obtain coordinates, accuracy and a capture time for a stamp. The app does not request background location access or operate a developer location-history service. You can use approximate location where iOS allows it, a custom label, or no location.
When you choose device location, Foliover automatically sends its coordinates to Apple’s geocoding service to obtain a full address; there is no separate address-lookup switch. After an address is resolved, location updates and automatic address queries stop, and the saved location remains until you refresh or replace it. The app keeps the original sample time rather than treating a saved point as a new GPS fix. You can edit the address text without changing its coordinates; the stamp marks edited text accordingly. For an imported photo, opening its location editor can resolve that photo’s existing coordinates without using your current GPS position. Apple handles its service under its own privacy terms. Choose a custom label or no location if you do not want an address lookup.
Timestamp exports are new image copies that omit source GPS and private source EXIF metadata. Any time, place, coordinates or note drawn visibly into the stamp remains part of the image when you share it. Stamps describe device time, photo metadata or your edits; they do not certify authenticity or prevent later editing.
06Settings, files and access records
Foliover stores preferences such as units, introduction completion, stamp layout, saved custom labels and notes, and local cleanup counts on the device. Your work photo and print exports, thumbnails and project descriptions are stored in the app so you can reopen, save or share them. Stamped photos are kept in Your work only when you choose Save to Your work. Imported and rendered working files may also be held in temporary storage.
Paid access uses verified Apple transaction information. The app stores each service’s used free trial and unspent share-use credit in iOS Keychain. Legacy calendar usage records may also remain for migration. These records are not uploaded to us, are not synchronized through a developer account, and may survive deleting and reinstalling the app depending on iOS behavior.
When you choose to share the app for one use of a service, the invitation contains a description of that service and an App Store link, not your photos, calendar or review results. A successful system share completion through a channel that is not excluded grants one use of the selected service. Foliover checks the channel identifier returned by iOS against local exclusions. Missing or empty channel identifiers, AirDrop, email, known file-storage and note tools, copying, printing, saving to Photos, canceling, errors, or simply returning to the app do not grant access. Other channels do not need to appear on a social-app allowlist. Foliover does not read recipients or verify delivery, views, clicks or installs.
07Apple purchases, backups and reports
Apple processes App Store purchases, subscriptions and restores. The app uses StoreKit product and transaction information to determine access. We do not receive your payment-card number or Apple Account password. Apple may provide the developer with sales or subscription reports and diagnostics according to its services and your device choices; relevant reports may be used to maintain the app and resolve issues.
The app has no developer-managed cloud account or cloud synchronization service. iCloud Photos, cloud Files providers, calendar sync and device backups operate according to your system and provider settings. App data may be included in a device backup. The app does not override these services’ retention or security settings.
Apple’s services are governed by Apple’s privacy notices. No separate advertising or analytics service is embedded by Foliover.
08Sharing, support and external pages
When you choose Share, Save to Photos, Save to Files or a printing destination, the output and any visible personal information are delivered to the app, provider, printer or recipient you select. Their policies govern copies they receive. Saving to Photos requests add-only permission when needed. Foliover does not automatically send these files to the developer.
If you email support or make a privacy request, we receive your email address and any name, message, attachments or device details you choose to send. We use this information to respond, investigate your issue, handle your request and keep necessary records. Sending support content is optional. Please send only what is needed and redact private information where possible.
Your email providers handle message delivery and storage. If you open an external policy, support or Apple page, the website provider can receive normal request information such as IP address and browser details. The policy page supplied with Foliover contains no advertising, analytics scripts or tracking cookies. We do not disclose support correspondence for advertising; we may disclose it where required by law or necessary to establish or defend legal rights.
09Retention, deletion and your controls
Local review caches remain until you clear or replace them, the app invalidates them, or its ordinary app storage is removed. Your work exports remain until you delete them or remove that storage. Temporary files remain until cleared by the app, iOS or removal of the app. Preferences remain until changed or ordinary app storage is removed.
We retain support correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request and retain necessary records for legal, security or dispute purposes. We consider whether the issue is still open, whether a record remains needed and any applicable retention requirement. Apple, email providers and export destinations control their own copies and retention.
Deleting the app removes ordinary app storage managed by iOS, but is not a guarantee that Keychain records, device backups, Apple transactions or copies outside the app are erased. We cannot remotely delete local photos or files because we do not hold developer-server copies.
- You → Clear photo review cache removes local review information without deleting your photos.
- You → Delete saved work, or a project’s Delete export action, removes the app’s stored photo and print copies and thumbnails.
- Timestamp → Settings → Clear temporary files removes Timestamp working files. Edit or clear saved custom labels and notes in the corresponding stamp settings.
- Use iOS Settings to change Photos, Calendar, Camera or Location permissions. Declining a permission limits the corresponding feature, not access to this policy.
- Manage shared copies in Photos, Files or the destination you selected, and manage backups through your backup provider. Photos recovery availability is controlled by Apple Photos; calendar deletion has no Foliover recovery service.
10Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access or receive a copy of personal information, correct it, request deletion, restrict processing, object to certain uses, or obtain portable information. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it for future processing. You may complain to your local data-protection authority, including an EEA supervisory authority or the UK Information Commissioner.
For US residents, applicable state law may also provide rights to know, correct or delete personal information, obtain a copy, opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising, and appeal a refused request. Foliover does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no such app activity to opt out of. We do not disadvantage you for exercising applicable rights.
Send requests to wanglingbo0227@126.com. An authorized agent may contact us where law permits. We may request proportionate information to verify authority or identity, and respond within applicable legal time limits. If we cannot fulfill a request, we explain why and any available appeal route. You can reply with “Privacy appeal” to request reconsideration.
Rights requests to us cover information we hold, such as support correspondence. For local-only content, use the controls above; for Apple or other providers’ records, contact that provider. The app’s review and quality suggestions are not automated decisions that determine eligibility, legal rights or similarly significant outcomes.
11Legal bases and international handling
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, the purposes above rely on the following bases as appropriate: providing the app functions you request and handling related service requests (performance of a contract); optional processing that requires consent (consent, which can be withdrawn); responding to support, maintaining security and handling disputes (our legitimate interests, balanced against your rights); and records or disclosures required by law (legal obligation). A device permission is a technical access control and does not by itself replace any consent required by law.
The app’s local analysis does not itself transfer your photo library or calendar to us in China. Support messages that you choose to send are handled by the developer in China and by the email providers used for delivery and storage. China’s data-protection rules may differ from those in your country. If you use optional Apple services or share content, the provider or recipient may also handle information in other countries. Where transfers under our responsibility are subject to EEA or UK restrictions, a legally permitted transfer mechanism and applicable safeguards are required; contact us for details relevant to your request. Apple and other providers describe their own international handling in their privacy notices.
12Security and children
Local information is kept in the app sandbox and protected by the security features of your device; selected access records use iOS Keychain. We limit the support information we request to what is needed to assist you. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Device access, backups and recipients you choose also affect the privacy of your content.
Foliover is a general-purpose utility and is not designed to solicit personal information from children. We do not knowingly solicit children’s personal information through support. If a parent or guardian believes a child has supplied such information without appropriate authorization, please contact us so we can address and delete it where required.
13Changes and contact
We update this policy when the app’s handling of information changes. The updated date identifies the latest version. Material changes will be made available through the app or the policy page, and any notice or consent required by law will be provided before new processing begins.
For questions, privacy requests or complaints, contact the Foliover developer at wanglingbo0227@126.com. Include “Foliover Privacy” in the subject and describe the request. You do not need to attach private photos or calendar contents to ask a privacy question.
